In this episode of Podcasting 101, Neil and Annaleis join me to talk about the wonderful world of Podcasting. From building a great community of listeners and friends to sharing not only the fun day to day events in their lives, but also the sometimes scary and tragic and very personal events in your life as well.
Neil and Annaleis are a married couple who shares their world with the world, and your world is better for it. Listen as they take you on a quick trip to target, or maybe even to Jamaica!
I hope you enjoy this episode of Podcasting 101. I'd love some feed back about the show! You can tweet to me (Jason the Angry Ginger) at @MonkeyPooStu or @Podcaster101.
Thanks for listening! ...and to those that support the show over at Patreon.com/monkeypoostudios you rock as well!

Dave Jackson returns to the podcast to discuss the different ways people include their personal lives in their podcast. We also chat having a healthy balance between podcasting and the rest of your life.
Once Dave takes off... we bring in Elsie, who is coming down from the mountains and into civilization. Just ignore the dog in the back ground... for she's calling from the road and we are doing a live broadcast so all quiet like studio stuff is thrown out the window for this episode.
Elsie talks a bit about the 2017 changes at Libsyn. She doesn't announce a Stat's app... but we threaten to spread the word about it anyway. We also talk about the Power of Podcasting and How it's changed each of our lives!
Dan Evans, Cohost of the Deconstructing Dad podcast (yes... it's part of the Monkey Poo Studios family of podcasts) and Courtney Caulkins of the Quadcast Podcast join in on the discussion, while Neighbor Cole from the 7 Days a Geek podcast (yes... this one is part of Monkey Poo Studios too) moderates the chatroom.
**This is the second hour of the LIVE celebration of podcasting we host each year in October known as Podtoberfest. While the episode may have been recorded previously, the information, topics and discussion is timely and shouldn't be missed**

This episode was recorded live during the annual Podcasting Celebration event known as Podtoberfest that I do every year. In this first hour, Jacquelyn Landgraf from "It Makes a Sound" joins us to discuss her new Audio Drama. She tells us how the project first came together and about all of the hard work that goes into producing an episode. During that conversation, friend of the show, and amazing podcaster, Dave Jackson of "The School of Podcasting" calls in to join the show as well.
This is a fun and fantastic hour all about podcasting!
Thanks so much for listening and for all of your continued support dear listener!

In this episode of Pod 101 I celebrate my 9 years of podcasting by taking a look back through out my Podcasting career. All the shows, events and things that I've learned. Don't worry...it's in broad strokes. Other wise it'd be more of Ken Burns Documentary!

Courtney Calkins, the man, the myth, the legend from the Quadcast Podcast joins me today for a discussion on being an authentic host. It's what attracts us as listeners, and it's what will attract listeners to you as a podcast host. Bring the energy!
We also discuss methods to prevent "Pod Fading" and social media tactics in building your audience. I'll give you a hint, be social!
Never stop learning or trying to master your craft. Courtney talks about bragging when he first started that he never edited his show. Over the course of producing his shows, he's taught himself how to create smooth transitions, and segment bumpers. He loves placing music beds through out the course of an episode. His show has become highly produced. I think it's an aural work of art.
Podcasting is one of the few forms of entertainment where you can not only build relationships but form solid friendships! If you're producing your podcast, I'm sure you're hoping to be able to give something to the listener, but if you allow it, the listener will give something back. Podcasting can be a fun filled personal journey of discovery. It can be therapeutic. Be transparent and honest with your audience. You'll be a better host, and you'll have a better show because of it.
Courtney is a self taught indie podcaster with the production value of an NPR show, but with the energy of an afternoon morning show! It's talk radio at it's finest. It's a podcast about the podcaster.
I for one think it deserves a subscription on your playlist!
Also in this show, I begin production...errrrr...construction on the new Monkey Poo Studios project! More information to come in the coming weeks.
Keep listening....and keep podcasting!

Aaron Mahnke from the world wide phenomenon podcast known as Lore is interviewed in this episode. Aaron takes us from what was a simple (almost deleted) mistake, to a podcast that is now an upcoming television show, with a full season coming to Amazon Prime. Lore is about to become a book series too.
Listen to how one podcaster went from just wanting to tell stories....to living a dream! The man actually admits to having to sometimes pinch himself.
I'll be honest, I was extremely honored to spend more than the 30 minutes we had booked talking to Aaron. He's kind, intelligent, and very generous. I hope that everyone who listens to this episode learns something and is inspired to keep podcasting, or to continue on.
You can find Lore wherever you listen to podcasts. Find Aaron over at @amahnke and say hi!
I also have a quick "How Has Podcasting Changed Your Life" story from Ran Levi. Another podcaster who went from podcasting, to becoming a respected person in his field. He's been on TV. He's written books. Podcasting has indeed changed his life for the better and I'm so happy he shared his story with us! You can find Ran on twitter at @RanLevi

In this episode you will hear from some really great podcasters like Dave Jackson from The School of Podcasting. You'll also hear from Elsie Escobar of She Podcasts and The Feed, Libsyn's very own podcast.
Jordan Harbinger of The Art of Charm graces us with his presence to discuss all things podcasting as well.
If you like what you hear I strongly urge you to go back into the Podcasting 101 archives and download the full episodes...along with the whole library as well. Why not!?

This week on Podcasting 101 we dive into the Pod 101 vault! I took the liberty of pulling some clips from 3 fantastic podcasters who gave so much information that I couldn't contain it all in this episode! There is about 15 or 20 minutes from each of my interviews with John Lee Dumas of Entrepreneur On Fire, Keith and the Girl, and Grammar Girl shared on this episode. If you enjoy what you hear, and I promise you that you will. Please dive back into the vault yourself and listen to the complete episodes! I strongly encourage you to go back and listen to any of the episodes in the back library. There is so much information for podcasters at any level...I dare you to not learn something new!
This week I'm off to Podcast Movement, if you find yourself there or if you'd just like to see or learn more about it...please follow me over at Twitter where I will be posting pics and updates all week long! @Podcaster101

In this episode I get the chance to sit down with one of they easiest guys in to talk to in podcasting, Jared Easley. We've only ever had a couple of conversations on twitter but this is the first time ever having a chance to sit down and speak with him and what a delight!
For those of you who don't know what Podcast Movement is, it's a podcasting conference specifically tailored for podcaster of any ilk. There are "Breakouts" and "Sessions" about Marketing, Monetizing, Building an Audience and even, Finding Your Voice in Podcasting.
It's the one stop networking shop for all podcasters to meet and greet and learn new methods for taking their podcast up a notch or two...if they so choose.
We talk the origins of this Podcast Movement, Jared's own learning experiences and what he hopes podcasters themselves will take away from an even like this.
As most of you know, I am attending this event myself and I'd love to hear from you if you too are going. Please shoot me a message on twitter @Podcaster101 or send me an email... 7DAGpodcasting101@gmail.com.
I'm looking forward to all learning, networking and meeting my fellow podcasters in the coming days!
Thanks to all of you for your support!
